Get ready for possible revivals of Brian Fellows and the world’s least-flattering Oprah impression!

Yes, just over one year since the car crash that nearly claimed his life, it was announced today that Tracy Morgan will make his triumphant return to the world of comedy by hosting Saturday Night Live on October 17.

The show’s 41st season will kick off on October 3 with Miley Cyrus hosting for the third time.

From there, Amy Schumer will take over emcee-ing duties on October 10, and Morgan will hit the stage at Studio 8H for what’s sure to be an emotional monologue the following week.

Morgan, of course, was a stand-out cast member on the iconic sketch show for eight seasons. He went on to play a caricaturized version of himself as star of the show-within-the-show on 30 Rock.

The legal wrangling over the crash that badly injured Morgan and claimed the life of his friend James McNair is far from over, and it was recently revealed that the driver of the truck that struck Morgan’s vehicle had been awake for 28 hours at the time of the accident.

Just a few months ago, it looked as though Morgan would never perform again as a result of his injuries.

While the beloved, improv-happy wild card will no doubt deliver the laughs during his turn as host, we imagine there won’t be a dry eye in the house during his standing ovation.
