A TEENAGER has been stabbed to death in South London today — hours after another attack left a man fighting for his life.
Cops were called at 3:28pm this afternoon to Academy Road, junction with Shooters Hill, Woolwich, to reports of a man with stab injuries.
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and found the victim, believed to be aged 18, in the Woolwich Common area.
Despite the desperate efforts of passers-by, police and paramedics, the man died at the scene.
Police believe they know the identity of the deceased and have informed next of kin.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
The Specialist Crime Command have been informed and urgent enquiries are underway to establish what happened.
A crime scene and road closures are in place.

Elsewhere, in mirror-like circumstances, a young man was left fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed in Lewisham overnight.
The victim, 20, was found with a stab injury on Friendly Street at just before 11pm on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police are investigating after a man, aged 20, was found with a stab injury at 11.53pm last night on Friendly Street, Lewisham.
"He remains in hospital in a critical condition. It is believed the stabbing took place on New Cross Road."
