Jesse Tyler Ferguson's husband Justin Mikita won't be charged in a deadly crash that occurred back in November 2014, TMZ reports. The Tie the Knot co-founder was involved in a collision with motorcyclist Nick Trela at the time, who died from his injuries.
"This was a horrible tragedy," Mikita, 29, tells Us Weekly in a statement. "I want to respect the family and the process, so I am not going to discuss any details of the accident or the complaint at this time."
Trela, 23, was engaged to Kirstie Alley's daughter Lillie Price Stevenson at the time of the incident. "It's the worst thing that ever happened in our lives," Alley told Howard Stern recently. "He was clearly one of the most awesome men I have ever met in my life."
Mikita will not be charged with vehicular manslaughter. Trela's family, however, is reportedly suing him.

"Justin and Jesse want to be respectful as this was a tragic accident," an insider close to the investigation adds exclusively to Us. "Witnesses will be coming forward soon to say that the motorcyclist was speeding at 80 miles per hour in a 35 MPH zone when Justin made a legal left turn and the accident happened. It was a terrible accident but that is why it took place."
Mikita and the Modern Family star married in July 2013.
