THE races are about to begin for Black Friday shopping, and JCPenney has announced the starting time.
The retailer has confirmed the closure of all stores on Thanksgiving, but bargain hunting will begin early the next day for shoppers.
WAKE UP FOR SALES
JCPenney joins the list of retailers closed for business on Turkey Day, including unexpected staples like Target and Walmart.
However, JCPenney followed up the holiday closure with the news of sales beginning early on Black Friday.
The U.S. Sun has confirmed with a store associate all locations will welcome shoppers starting promptly at 5 am.
However, as the tale of Black Friday shopping goes, many Americans will most likely show up beforehand to get first dibs.

To give you a big picture, this year, it's estimated that 132 million Americans plan to shop the pre-holiday sales (such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday), according to the latest research from Finder.
The average person will spend a pretty $708 on deals totaling roughly $60 billion of bargains.
Many retailers are counting on these profits to stay afloat, especially after nationwide mass store closures and bankruptcies.
JCPENNEY INVESTS $1 BILLION IN STORES
JCPenney announced plans to spend $1 billion to make store improvements by the end of 2025.

Revitalization efforts come after the 121-year-old company filed for bankruptcy in 2020.
JCPenney is using the money to remodel stores, upgrade its online shopping site and app, and make its supply network more efficient so that online orders are delivered quicker.
The investment will also employ more people, as the chain plans to implement walking cashiers.
Some store employees will have mobile devices to scan inventory and ring up transactions.
Of course, this is all in an effort to place JCPenney back on the map to compete with other major retailers.

ARE AMERICAN SHOPPERS ALRIGHT?
Despite Black Friday set to pump billions into the economy, JCPenney's leadership doesn't think the average family can afford it.
CEO Marc Rosen had pessimistic predictions about the state of American finances.
Rosen said the average family spends $700 more monthly than they did two years ago.
Therefore, shoppers are trading off more luxurious expenses.
Black Friday shopping is a chance for customers to recoup the best offers on the market they can't afford the rest of the year.
But not all retailers will be making a fuzz.
