“I was listening to music, in my own world,” Douglas, 31, said about the attack, according to the New York Daily News. The actor was relaxing after a day’s work at “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not” in Times Square when he boarded a southbound E train to begin his commute back to his home in Jersey City. Sometime around 6 PM ET, “this guy cones through the cars while the train is moving.”
The alleged assailant was a shoeless man with bleeding feet. When Douglas make eye contact with the man, the alleged attacker said, “What the f**k are you looking at?” As the train pulled into the World Train Center station, Douglas started to walk away. However, the shoeless men reportedly followed the actor and punched Douglas in the back of the head.

“I was trying to play it cool,” he said “but then I realized he was out of his mind. He was like, pacing back and forth, and he came out with a knife.” The alleged attacker came at Drucker with a folding knife, slashing the tattooed-actor once on the left hand and again on the left shoulder. Thankfully, the injuries weren’t fatal, as Douglas was treated for lacerations.
As for the attacker, the alleged shoeless man is still at large. The suspect fled. Witnesses described the attacker as a 40-year-old man, standing about 6’0, wearing a black hat, long sleeved shirt, blue jeans and a black backpack, according to the New York Post.
Douglas’s distinctive facial tattoos made him stand out when he played a gang leader on the “Dirty” episode Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He also is known for playing a “rough man” in Tracers and his IMDB profile is full of roles such as “Predator,” “Scary Guy” and “Tattooed Junkie.”
This nearly fatal incident is similar to a role that Douglas played in the Susan Sarandon, 70, film, Ace the Case. “I play a guy trying to scare a girl in the subway,” he said, noting that a lot of times, he’s “playing the bad guy. I understood where [his attacker] was coming from, in a way.” After surviving this incident, Doug says, “it doesn’t really change me, but now I kind of sympathize with others – if they’re intimidated by me.”
