Claire Danes (born Claire Catherine Danes on April 12, 1979 in Manhattan, New York) is an American actress. She has four Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and three Emmys. Claire starred as Angela Chase in the television series My So-Called Life. She has also had roles in the films Little Women, Romeo + Juliet and The Hours. Claire received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in Sept. 2015. She currently stars in the Showtime series Homeland as Carrie Mathison.

In 1998, Claire took a break from acting to attend Yale University, but dropped out in 2000 to resume her career. Claire dated Australian singer Ben Lee for six years, and actor Billy Crudup for three years. Claire then met actor Hugh Dancy, and they got engaged in 2009 before marrying later that year. They have one son, Cyrus, who was born in 2012. Claire and her family live in the West Village in NYC. As a philanthropist, Claire supports the charity Afghan Hands and supports Donorschoose.org.
