A slew of singers wowed viewers and judges during last night’s Motown-themed American Idol.

At the end of the evening, though, the overall favorite hadn’t changed: Adam Lambert put on his best performance yet.

Here’s a complete rundown of the top auditions:

  • Adam Lambert was almost unrecognizable singing “Track of My Tears.” He sat on a stool, hair slicked back and went acoustic for the rendition. Simon said it was the best of the night.
  • Kris Allen strapped on his guitar and put his own spin on “How Sweet It Is.” Simon encouraged more confidence, but Kara said: “You did everything right.”
  • Allison Iraheta put on another far-beyond-her-years performance. She sang “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone” and earned the highest of compliments from Randy, as he referred to her “one of the dopest singers” in the competition.
  • Matt Giraud made many women’s fantasies come true with “Let’s Get It On.” Kara looked ready to jump him on the spot.
